Tickets for Willamalane Park and Recreation District’s annual Haunted Hayride are available. The event is Oct. 23-25, and tickets sell out quickly. The event is geared toward young children. Cost is $7.50 to $9; willamalane.org.

 

The Frightuary Haunted House continues through Oct. 31 at Lane Events Center, 796 W. 13th Ave. This year’s theme is The Carnival of Souls. Tickets are $14 at the door. Thrill the World Eugene dance practices for Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” are from 5:45 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9; Oct. 12; Oct. 16; Oct. 23, at Venue 252, 252 Lawrence St. All ages and abilities are welcome. The annual Costume Art Walk and contest as part of the Downtown Second Friday Art Walk in Springfield is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 13. The Maude Kerns Art Center’s annual Day of the Dead Exhibit (Día de los Muertos) will be on display Oct. 13 through Nov. 3; the opening reception is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 13. Adventure Children’s Museum, 490 Valley River Center, hosts a Family Halloween Party and Pumpkin Auction from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 21. Event features a scarecrow stuffing contest, pie eating, games and a costume craft table, including Halloween origami. Mount Pisgah Arboretum, 34901 Frank Parrish Road, hosts its annual Scarecrow Building and Pumpkin Carving Workshop from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 22, in preparation for the Mushroom Festival’s Scarecrow Contest on Oct. 29. Cost is $5 per pumpkin and $5 per scarecrow. Free pants, shirts, straw and pumpkins will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring your scarecrow’s own clothes.
